It is said in the Ramayan that Rama built a great bridge when the Tsunami waters came in and separated India from Sri Lanka.  His wife Sita had been kidnapped and taken to Sri Lanka.  Ram travelled with his army on the bridge and fought the evil Raaven for the return of his wife, Sita.

Despite the links between history, religion and archeology, the Indian authorities have made plans for the destruction of the bridge to make a canal to provide a shortcut for ships sailing around the south coast of India into China.   The project is not even viable, as it will take 200 years to break even the extortionate costs.

Worldwide support for the bridge is not just from Hindus, but those who know that the earliest civilisation known to man, centuries before the Saraswati Indus settlements, is of International importance, not just of National commercial concern.

Believe in Lord Rama and people will serve him

A detailed map of the locations visited by Lord Rama in the jungles of India during the 14 years of his exile (see red stars and corresponding numbers in a box with the details below the map).  The path starts at Ayodhya, the birthplace of Ram, and the place of the residence of Ram and Sita after their marriage (see Sita's rasoi, or kitchen).  The path extends the entire length of the jungle and ends at the location of the Ram Setu

Applications have been made in the courts to preserve the birthplace of Rama in Ayodhya after Sita's Rasoi was insultingly demolished under Moghul rule to construct a mosque
